Stephen J. Zuppo 1971-2024

Stephen was born Nov. 17, 1971, in Youngstown, a son of Anthony Zuppo and the late Janet Carano Zuppo, and was a lifelong area resident. A proud 1990 graduate of Girard High School, he went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps before dedicating many years of his career to the Department of Justice, until his retirement.

Steve’s love for life was reflected in his favorite pastimes — whether it was hitting the golf course, fishing, playing cards, hunting or simply enjoying the outdoors. A compassionate soul, he had a special love for animals, especially his two loyal dogs, Daisy and Major, and cared for numerous injured animals over the years. Yet, nothing in Steve’s life brought him more joy than his role as a father; he adored his “best bubba,” Haley Grace, and treasured their daddy-daughter dates.

He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Jill Mullen Zuppo, whom he married Oct. 9, 2011; his treasured daughter, Haley Grace, who lovingly called him her “sunshine;” his father, Anthony Zuppo of Girard; siblings, Cindy (Michael) Saverko of Girard, Anthony (Christine) Zuppo Jr. of Goose Creek, South Carolina, and Donna Stephens of Girard; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members, and countless friends, who will forever hold his memory close.

Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Zuppo; and two brothers, Thomas and Donald Zuppo.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Girard.
