WIlliam J. DiRenzo 1944-2024

AUSTINTOWN — William J. DiRenzo, known affectionately as Bill, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at the age of 80.

He was born Feb. 23, 1944, in Youngstown, to Charles and Angeline Dagroma DiRenzo. He spent his final years in Austintown.

Bill was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Carlie Jane DiRenzo and Alexander William Fogel. His love for his family extended to his two children, Lisa DiRenzo, who resides in Florida, and William DiRenzo Jr. of Austintown, and he was married to Paula Antonucci DiRenzo, the mother of Lisa and Bill Jr. He was also married to Delma Pelini DiRenzo, who preceded him in death. Bill was also a proud brother to Christy, Ernie (Patricia), Ron and Pauli (Vickie) DiRenzo, and he was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie DiRenzo. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A retiree from General Motors, Bill dedicated 30 years of his life to the company. He also served his country in the Army from 1966 to 1968, stationed in Germany, followed by 20 years in the National Guard.

Bill enjoyed many hobbies, with golfing and visiting the casino being among his favorites. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help others, always putting family first. Bill had a passion for sports, proudly supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Yankees. He also spent the last few winters in Florida, relishing the warm weather and the chance to escape the cold.

He will be remembered for his warm spirit, deep love for his family and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

There will no funeral services, as Bill generously donated himself to The Cleveland Clinic Body Donation Program to shape the future of medical education and practice.
