Barbara A. Perry 1941-2024
NILES — Barbara Ann Perry, 83, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, Dec. 6, 2024, in the comfort of her home.
Barbara was born Jan. 19, 1941, in Youngstown, the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Anna Pregibon Vukovinsky. She remained a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area and was a proud 1958 graduate of Chaney High School.
Barbara dedicated her professional life to Mill Creek MetroParks, where she worked in the office until her retirement in 1997. Her kind spirit and dedication extended beyond work into her faith and community. A devoted member of St. Brendan Church, Barbara was actively involved with her parish, serving with the Altar and Rosary Society and attending Mass regularly. She cherished her church family and found great joy in her spiritual life.
Barbara found joy in life’s simple pleasures: visiting casinos, sharing Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and Munchkins with loved ones, especially if they brought the coffee, and traveling with her husband, Ralph, in their motor home. She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed watching football.
Her generous spirit and love for her family were hallmarks of her life. She treasured time spent with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who were dear to her heart.
Barbara is survived by her nieces and nephews, David Vukovinsky of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Diane (Art) Cunningham of Youngstown, Donna (John) Popio of Austintown, Christine (Mark) Mulcahy of Westerville, Michael (Sonya) Vukovinsky of Chester, Connecticut, Brian (Tanya) Vukovinsky of Brunswick and Tom (Karin) Vukovinsky of Powder Springs, Georgia. Barbara also leaves behind three sisters-in-law, Theresa Vukovinsky, Beatrice Frederick and Nora Loudin; as well as many cherished great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members and friends, including Bob, Dave and Rick, who helped her in her later years.
Her husband, Ralph M. Perry Jr., whom she married Dec. 31, 1979, died Sept. 19, 2011.
Two brothers, Paul Vukovinsky and Louis Vukovinsky, also preceded Barbara in death.
