NORTH JACKSON — Bella A. Herubin, 87, formerly of Canfield, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Bella was born Jan. 12, 1937, in Lowellville, the cherished daughter of the late Lewis and Congetta Martucci Leardi. She was a proud graduate of Lowellville High School and spent her entire life in the Mahoning Valley, embracing its community and traditions.

Bella’s professional journey included working in the alumni office at Ursuline High School and later at Reali, Giampetro, and Scott Accounting Firm. Despite her professional commitments, her greatest role and joy was as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Herubin loved sports, sharing her delicious wedding soup with loved ones, and cherishing the company of family and friends. Christmas, her favorite holiday, was a time when her home and heart shone brightest, filled with warmth and celebration.

In her later years, Bella generously volunteered her time at Antonine Village, sharing her compassion and warmth with those in need.

Bella is survived by her two sons, Joseph T. Herubin Jr., and his wife, Karen of Lake Villa, Illinois, and Mark A. Herubin, and his wife, Deborah of Columbus; and five grandchildren, Max, Nolan, Gabriella, Mason and Nicholas, who brought her endless joy.

Her husband of 53 years, Joseph T. Herubin Sr., whom she married March 28, 1967, died July 22, 2020.

Her brother, Vito Leardi, also preceded her in death.

Family and friends may call 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown. Those attending are asked to meet at the church at 10:30 a.m.

Entombment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery, where Bella will be laid to rest alongside her husband.

Bella’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jimmy Herubin Scholarship Fund at Ursuline High School, 750 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505.
