Brandon M. Puskarcik Sr. 1983-2024
NORTH JACKSON — Brandon M. Puskarcik Sr., 41, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Brandon was born Feb. 15, 1983, in Youngstown, a son of David and Juanita Gonzalez Puskarcik.
Brandon was a 2001 graduate of Chaney High School. He graduated from YSU with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology. He was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area.
Brandon married the love of his life, the former Themelina Tsikouris, on July 26, 2008.
He worked at First Energy since 2006, most recently in the engineering department.
Coach Puskarcik enjoyed his first season as middle school head football coach. He assisted the middle school team during the 2023 season and had been coaching football for five years while being an integral part of the Jackson-Milton gridiron program. He was excited to work with the student athletes, continuing to develop their skills, confidence and discipline. Brandon also coached baseball for many years.
Brandon loved doing volunteer work with his wife and helping the community. He enjoyed his vacations to Myrtle Beach and spending time with family and friends. He cherished his wife, his children and the time he spent with them and his family.
He enjoyed working in his garage and yard and was often on his tractor. Brandon will be remembered for how he said, “Family and No Big Deal.”
Brandon will be deeply missed and always remembered by his wife, Melina; his children, Jasena and Brandon Jr.: his mother, Juanita (Michelle Zorella); his father, David (Marie) Puskarcik; his brother, David (Tracey) Puskarcik; mother- and father-in-law, Nick and Alfreda Tsikouris; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Grace and Brian Papini, Theresa and Michael Van Such, John and Christian Tsikouris, Jimmy and Natalie Tsikouris, and Nikitas and Kenzi Tsikouris; nieces and nephews, David III, Gabriel, Brooke, Niko, Mikey, Nicky, Alexa, Christina, Athena, Everly, Noah, Mariah, Nick, Demi, Harper, Kayson and Randy; professor turned very close friend, Donald Slanina; and many aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amara Puskarcik; paternal grandparents, Patricia and Chester Puskarcik; maternal grandparents, Hartsena and Miguel Gonzalez; and aunts and uncles, Eddie, Elaine and Frankie Gonzalez.
The Puskarcik family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive friends and family 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at the funeral home. Calling hours will be again, 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at St. Michael Byzantine Church in Campbell, followed by a Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Very Rev. Father Kevin Marks.
