Daniel Benedis 1957-2024

YOUNGSTOWN — Daniel Benedis, “Dan the Man,” 67, passed away peacefully, Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at Hospice House in Poland.

He was born Dec. 13, 1957, in Youngstown, son of the late Dominic Benedis Sr. and Delores Lumpp Benedis Cramer.

Dan was a graduate of South High School. He met his teenage sweetheart, Diane Guy, and they have been together for 51 years and married Oct. 24, 2014.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. After his time in the service he worked many jobs and retired from Magna Seatings in 2021.

Dan enjoyed working in his yard planting flowers and tending his garden. He liked to decorate big for holidays, especially Christmas; he had lights everywhere. Dan also enjoyed relaxing and watching cartoons with his dog, Rocky. On Sundays, he enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Bengals, with his grandson, Miguel.

Dan is survived by his wife, Diane Benedis; children, Angelina Benedis and Stacey Guy Benedis (Andrew); his four grandchildren he cherished every moment with, Angelina Patterson, Miguel Reyes, Mario Reyes and Marissa Reyes; siblings, Cheryl Pondillo (Albert) of Boardman, Donald Benedis (Melissa) of Lowellville, David Benedis of Campbell, Kimberly Ciccolelli of Poland, Christine Cramer (Haley) of Poland and Kellee Morris (William) of Campbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Cynthia White, Deborah Miller and Dominic Benedis Jr.

Visitation will be held 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Kirila Funeral Home Inc., 258 Poland Ave., Struthers, followed by a service at 5 p.m., also at the funeral home.
