Darrell L. Williams Jr. 1969-2024

BEAVERCREEK — Darrell L. Williams Jr., 55, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, Dec. 8, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family.

Darrell was born Jan. 4, 1969, in Youngstown, the son of Darrell L. Williams Sr. and Cherie Rice Williams. He grew up in McDonald, where he proudly graduated from McDonald High School, Class of 1987. A passionate and determined learner, Darrell pursued higher education at Youngstown State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering in 1991. His dedication to excellence led him to complete some graduate coursework at the University of Pittsburgh and various leadership and business training courses through the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Darrell’s professional journey reflected his brilliance and commitment to innovation. Over the years, he held pivotal roles at Aristech, Sunoco Chemicals and Braskem, ultimately serving as executive vice president at Advanced Composites in Sidney.

Darrell leaves to forever cherish his memory his wife of 33 years, Carla Williams, whom he married Aug. 31, 1991; his two children, Victoria Williams and Kyle Williams; his parents, Darrell L. Williams Sr. and Cherie L. Williams of McDonald; two brothers, Dan (Debbie) Williams and Glenn (Traci) Williams; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal pug companion, Brutus.

Family and friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.

Additional calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at the funeral home, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m.

Entombment will follow in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown.

Darrell’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.

Darrell was a man of integrity, kindness and intellect. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and inspiration that will continue to touch the lives of all who knew him. His spirit will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
