David G. Bass 1963-2024

He was born Sept.12, 1963, in Warren, a son of the late Joe Bass and the late Jane E. Sotak Bass.

He was a graduate of Howland High School and was employed as a mechanic at May’s Towing for 27 years.

David was a skilled mechanic and could fix just about anything. He used his skills fixing and building motors for dirt track racing, racing himself as well. David also enjoyed building and racing demolition derby cars, where he was known as “Bass Man.”

He took immense pride in the cabin he built in Tionesta, Pa., and all the memories he was able to make there.

Dave had a big heart and would do anything he could to help anyone.

He is survived by his brother, Ronald (Linda) Bass of Cleveland; daughters, Natalie and Tessa; longtime companion, Jill Marsh, and her daughters, Anna and Julia Steiner; lifelong friend, Tim Deutsch; and many other close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Leslie (Steven) Panek.

A special thank you goes out to Mandy for the care she gave to David over the last several months.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services at this time.

Carl W. Hall Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements for cremation. He will be laid to rest in Meadow Brook Memorial Park.
