David R. Hatalsky 1948-2024

MINERAL RIDGE — David Richard Hatalsky, 76, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at home.

He was born April 7, 1948, in Warren, to the late John and Florence Grgurich Hatalsky.

David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beth Hatalsky; children, Don (Catherine) Davis of North Olmsted and Tina (Jeff) Miller of Poland; grandchildren, Joseph (Hannah) Davis, Dr. Bethany (Seth Yates) Davis, Ryan (Erin) Davis, Joel Miller, Jillian (Jacob Blick) Miller, Jessica Miller, Jaxon Miller, Anna Davis, Mark Davis, Sean Davis and Maria Davis; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Owen, Wesley, Bode and Hollie; sister, Susan (Paul) Tessler; sisters-in-law, Esther Vari and Nancy Vari; brothers-in-law, Louis Vari and Tim (Donna) Vari; as well as nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Dave was also preceded in death by his son, Sean Davis; and brother, Tom Hatalsky.

Dave was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at Miami University of Ohio and an MBA from Youngstown State University. He retired from Delphi Packard after a 34-year career as a quality control general supervisor. In his spare time, Dave enjoyed rooting for the Buckeyes and officiating area football games from youth leagues to high school for over 25 years.

Dave was proud of his grandchildren and loved to learn of their accomplishments. He had a tradition of buying each of their high school letterman jackets.

Dave was often giving to others in need, while wanting no recognition for his generous acts of kindness. He was an amazing example of how to take care of your family and this quote sums up the person he was, “The best portion of a good man’s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.” — William Wadsworth

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Grace Fellowship Church, 325 Youngstown Warren Road, Niles, OH 44446.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave’s memory can be made to the Rich Center for Autism, 1 University Plaza, Youngstown, OH 44555.
