Linda Elizabeth Schulte, 1950-2024
CANFIELD — Linda Elizabeth Schulte, 74, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic, with her family by her side, after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer.
She was born June 21, 1950, in Youngstown, the daughter of Rocco and Mary Bartholomew. She was a 1968 graduate of Ursuline High School and worked as a secretary at the Mahoning County Courthouse. Linda married the love of her life, William “Mike” Schulte, on March 21, 1980. Together they made their home in Canfield and raised their three children, Scott, Erin and Alexis.
Linda was known for her love of helping others and had a deep pride in her Italian roots. She was well known for her homemade cavatelli, ravioli and spaghetti sauce. She loved the summer and spending time outdoors, but she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren most of all.
Linda was the glue of her family, carrying on many family traditions that will now be carried on by her children. She often put others before herself and truly never met a stranger.
She leaves her children, whom she deeply loved, Scott J. (Heather) Schulte of Canfield, Erin L. (Rob) Davies of Boardman and Alexis C. Schulte of Boardman. She also leaves six grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Ma,” Ryan Schulte, Michael Schulte, Gabriella Davies, Dominic Davies, Brinley Stanec and Mia Guarendi. In addition, Linda leaves a brother, Dennis (Lynn) Bartholomew of Vero Beach, Florida; and a sister-in-law, who was more like a sister, Rose Bartholomew of Boardman.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, William “Mike” Schulte, who passed away Nov. 14, 2001; her parents, Rocco and Mary Bartholomew; and her brother, Ken Bartholomew.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, and 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at the Schiavone Funeral Home, 1842 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44504. From there, a funeral procession will proceed to St. Michael Catholic Church, 300 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
In celebration of Linda’s life, please consider wearing black and pink, her favorite colors.
