Louis M. Palusak 1942-2024

STRUTHERS — Louis M. “Lou” Palusak, 82, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, after a short illness.

Lou was born Nov. 11, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of Louis R. and Julia Berchik Palusak.

He was a 1960 graduate of Ursuline High School. Lou went on to serve in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1961 to 1964.

Lou married the love of his life, Margaret E. “Marge” Zetts, on June 25, 1966, at St. John the Baptist Church in Campbell.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Poland.

Lou retired from the former Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. and Syro Steel (Trinity Industries) in Girard.

He enjoyed target practicing as a member of the Lowellville Rod and Gun Club. Lou took pride in restoring a 1979 Chevy Camaro with his son, Christopher. He also enjoyed reading and visiting the casino.

Lou will be deeply missed and always remembered by his wife, Marge, after 58 years of marriage; a son, Christopher, at home; his brother, Richard (Elaine) Palusak of Pleasant Mount, Pa.; his brother-in-law, Jerome E. Zetts of Canfield; his sister-in-law, Anna Marie Reichert of Poland; a niece and several nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Palusak family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive family and friends 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Holy Family Parish, with military honors. A luncheon will follow in the social hall.

Lou will be laid to rest in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
