Margaret T. Beres Julian 1933-2024
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Margaret T. Beres Julian passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at her home in North Fort Myers, Florida, at the age of 91, with her daughter by her side.
Born on Nov. 23, 1933, in Youngstown, Margaret was the daughter of Andrew and Maria Levkus Beres. She graduated from Chaney High School and went on to dedicate over 30 years of service as a supervisor at the Youngstown Water Department, where she earned the affectionate nickname “Sarge” from her colleagues.
Margaret was an avid bowler who spent many joyful evenings at Gran Lanes with a close-knit group of friends. Fluent in Slovak, she cherished her heritage and found joy in reading, watching movies, admiring sunsets and palm trees, dining out and caring for her beloved cats. In her retirement years, she lived in Poway, California; Arlington, Texas; and eventually North Fort Myers, Florida, where she shared a home with her daughter, Marina.
She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Marina Julian of North Fort Myers, Florida; her grandson, John Jason Rohrbaugh of Garland, Texas; and her sister, Mary Beres Knightly of Canfield.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Maria Beres; her husband, Nicholas Julian; and her sisters, Helen Beres D’Angelo and Anne Marie Beres Vidas.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hope Hospice for their compassionate care during Margaret’s final days.
A memorial service to honor Margaret’s life will be held in the summer of 2025. Details will be shared with friends and loved ones at a later date.
May Margaret’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
