Marie D’Altorio 1932-2024

STRUTHERS — Marie Virginia D’Altorio, 92, passed away peacefully, Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Hospice of the Valley.

Marie was born Jan. 8, 1932, in Struthers, the daughter of the late Luca and Virginia Carbon Bovenzi. She was a resident of Struthers her entire life and a graduate of Struthers High School in 1950.

She worked for Century Foods, Valu King and retired from Struthers Schools Cafeteria in 1992. After 52 years, she is finally reunited with the love of her life in heaven, Alfonso D’Altorio. The two met while working together at Century Foods and married Feb. 15, 1958, sharing a beautiful 15-year marriage until his passing on Aug. 15, 1973.

Marie’s life was devoted to her faith and family. She was a lifelong member of the St. Nicholas Parish and had a special devotion for the Blessed Mother. Her most joyous times were Sunday and holiday dinners, surrounded by loved ones.

Her memory will be carried on by her children, Alfonso “Al” D’Altorio (Flo Porter) and Virginia Sikora; grandchildren Nina D’Altorio, Alaina D’Altorio, Dominic (Brogan) Sikora and Adriana Sikora; and the light of her life, her great-granddaughter Lily D’Altorio. She also had a special place in her heart for all her nieces, nephews, and their families.

Besides her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by her sisters Patricia Blangero, Florina Gough and Letizia Jackson.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at St. Nicholas Parish followed by a mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Timothy Hric and Hospice of the Valley.
