Michael F. Bosio 1944-2024

POLAND — Michael F. Bosio, 80, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024.

He was born Nov. 19, 1944, in Greensburg, Pa., and raised in Forbes Road, Pa. He was the son of Michael M. and Helen Tarosky Bosio.

Michael’s educational journey began at Greensburg Salem High School, from where he graduated before earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Youngstown State University.

He worked in sales for Globe Electric Company in Pittsburgh for over 47 years. He loved his job and would happily sing “On the Road Again” every morning as he was leaving to visit customers.

A truly passionate outdoorsman, Michael found joy in gardening, fishing, hunting, and especially, golf. He played in many leagues in the area, including the Y-League. He was at his happiest on the golf course and enjoyed teaching as much as he played, as he wanted others to find as much joy as he did in the sport. He loved nature and animals and could name every squirrel and bird in his neighborhood.

Michael’s family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Marie Gottschalk, whom he married June 21, 1969. Together, they nurtured a loving household that reflected their shared values and devotion to one another. He is also survived by daughter, Michele (Patrick Webre) Bosio of Alexandria, Virginia; sister, Becky (William) Hald of New Stanton, Pa.; and his brothers, Andrew (Eileen) Bosio of Surprise, Arizona, and William (Barb) Bosio of Greensburg, Pa. His unconditional love, guidance and support for his family was immense and boundless. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Mary Ellen Thompson.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

Professional services are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel.
