Tim L. Walker 1957-2024

HUBBARD — Tim L. Walker, a beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Born April 15, 1957, to Lenard and Jean Walker of Hubbard, Tim’s life was one of adventure, laughter and connection.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Rose Choppa Walker, who was his partner in life and love; his brothers, Tom (Mary Lou Flesher) Walker of Hubbard and Richard Walker of Texas; a sister-in-law, Debbie Bobovecz of Hubbard; and a brother-in-law, Pat Clemente of Hubbard. Tim’s circle of love extended to his cherished nieces and nephews on both the Choppa and Walker sides of the family, who will forever treasure the memories of their “fun Uncle Timmy.”

Preceding him in passing were his siblings, Rod Walker and Bonnie Clemente, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms.

Tim was a man who found joy in the simple, profound beauty of life. An avid outdoorsman, he excelled on the golf course, proudly displaying his hole-in-one plaque, a testament to his skill and love of the game. Whether hiking rugged trails, fishing quiet waters or simply soaking up the sun with a dog by his side, Tim embraced every moment with a smile, an infectious spirit and a deep appreciation for nature’s gifts and the companionship of lifelong friends.

Music was a constant in Tim’s life, providing the soundtrack to his adventures and the quiet moments in between. His days were filled with melodies, his heart always open to the beauty of a well-played tune.

Tim embodied the essence of the Milan Kundera quote he held dear:

“To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring — it was peace.”

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to their nephew, Marty Shales, for graciously opening his home to Tim in his final days. His kindness created a loving and comforting space where friends and family could gather to say their goodbyes.

May we all honor Tim’s memory by embracing the outdoors, cherishing the people and animals we love, and finding peace in life’s simple pleasures. His legacy of joy, kindness and gratitude will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in loving memory of Tim.

Family and friends may call 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Very Rev. Michael Balash officiating.
