Ulrike M. Black 1943-2024

She was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Bridel, Germany, a daughter of the late John and Matilda Gibbert Fanz.

Ricky was a selfless caretaker and the epitome of putting others first. As a health care aide, she devoted her life to ensuring the comfort, dignity and well-being of her patients. She offered not just medical care but emotional support and a steady presence for those who needed it most. She had an uncanny ability to make others feel valued, often setting aside her own needs to prioritize theirs.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Robert J. Black of Olympia, Washington, and Paul (Lori) Black of Florida; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher and Ryan Black; and her sister, Regina Carrol; as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Black; and a brother, Mumford Fanz.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
