William R. Nibert 1939-2024
NORTH CANTON — William R. Nibert, beloved father, cherished family member and friend, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at the age of 85.
Born Jan. 22, 1939, in Vienna, W.Va., Bill embraced life with a vibrant spirit and a heart dedicated to serving others.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Bill proudly served his country from 1962 to 1965. Demonstrating the same commitment during his professional life, he worked for United Airlines as a customer service agent for 36 years, retiring in 2001.
His passion for helping others extended far beyond his career. He was a dedicated volunteer at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. He was also an actively involved member of North Canton Church of Christ, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Bill had a zest for life that was truly infectious and he always made sure everyone felt included. He found joy in square dancing, acting in local plays, and playing cards (euchre, anyone?) with family and friends. His home was always filled with warmth, laughter and the purring of his beloved cats, reflecting his profound love for animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rose Ann Nibert; wife, Roberta Gruber Nibert; son, Michael Nibert; brothers, Charles, James, Robert and Ralph Nibert; and sisters, Mary Jane Hare, Ann Stuckey and Stella Olsen.
He is survived by brother, Harry Nibert; daughters, Cynthia Allen (Matthew), Theresa Soderberg (Brian) and Victoria Findysz (Robert); grandchildren, Derrick Nibert (Alina), Jake Einoris, Samantha Findysz, Hannah Findysz, Bobby Findysz, Tyler Findysz, Lindsey Gifford (Corey) and Emily Halden (Jeremy); brother-in-law, Robert Gruber (Nancy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Bill’s life during calling hours 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at Reed Funeral Home, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW, North Canton, followed by further visitation beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024.
A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
