Ardell A. Tiller 1940-2025

STRUTHERS — Ardell Audrey Tiller died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at Assumption Village in North Lima.

She was born July 19, 1940, in North Lima, to Cecil and Eloise Cook.

Ardell was a devoted individual who held a deep appreciation for life and loved traveling, with Paris being her favorite place in the world.

One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her Bachelor of Science in health education in 1989 from Youngstown State University later in life. She was also a 1958 graduate of North Lima High School. She raised her children in Boardman as a stay-at-home mom and later made her life in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her hobbies included shopping for antiques, playing cards, listening to opera and traveling.

In Wilmington, she enjoyed her work at the Burgwin-Wright House, a historical mansion and gardens where she served as head docent, education director and grant writer until retirement. She also taught at Penn-Ohio College in Youngstown and was director of Christian education at Poland United Methodist Church before moving to North Carolina.

After retirement, she divided her time between Wilmington and Struthers before moving permanently back to the Mahoning Valley in 2018.

She leaves behind her children, Tammy Miller (Michael) of Boardman, Adele Miller of Boardman and Chip Miller (Lisa) of Struthers; her grandchildren, Haley Cremeans, Charlie Miller and Nick Miller; a sister, Joyce Latessa (Joe); nephews, Mike Latessa and Bruce Miller; niece, Lora Latessa; and grandniece Karie Seacrist.

She was predeceased by her parents and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman, with a funeral service to immediately follow.
