Betty L. Gallagher 1930-2025

BOARDMAN — Betty Lee Gallagher, 94, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, at The Inn at Walker Mill.

Betty was born May 30, 1930, in Maryland, the daughter of Lee and Stella Mongold Simpson.

Betty grew up in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

She graduated from nursing school in Cumberland, Maryland, and worked as a nurse for more than 20 years, dedicating her life to the profession with compassion and expertise.

During her retirement years you could find Betty enjoying family and friends at the beaches of Nags Head, North Carolina, and Port St Lucie, Florida, where she lived until 2017.

Betty had a great sense of humor and a laugh that will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty will be missed by her daughter, Diane (Thomas) Perica of Poland; son, Robert (Marie) Paugh of Rochester Hills, Michigan; sister, Twila Buehler of Pendergrass, Georgia, as well as several nieces and nephews in Pendergrass; four grandchildren, John Kirsch of Canfield, Robert (Naomi) Paugh of Michigan, Dr. Lauren (Eirik) Perica Robertstad of Connecticut, and Thomas (Heather) Perica of Nevada.

In addition to her children and grandchildren she leaves “her boys” of Michigan, great-grandsons, Caleb and Lucas Paugh. She also leaves two great-grandsons of Nevada, Carl and Edward Perica.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles A Gallagher, who died in 2016.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at The Inn at Walker Mill for their compassion and friendship shown to Betty these past seven years.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice of Canfield, Ohio.

Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins – Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
