Carol Ann Lautner 1946-2025

POLAND — Carol Ann Lautner, 78, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at her residence.

Born Oct. 23, 1946, in Youngstown, to the late Charles Moore Sr. and Julia Casey Moore, Carol lived a life full of much love, many laughs and cherished memories.

She graduated from Wilson High School in 1964 and attended cosmetology school shortly afterward.

She married the love of her life, Robert J. Lautner, on June 13, 1987.

Carol dedicated a significant portion of her career to Caprice Healthcare, where she worked until her retirement in 2013. Even in retirement, her commitment to helping others did not wane, as she volunteered for another seven years.

Beyond her professional life, Carol brought joy and warmth to those around her through her many hobbies and interests. She was an avid bowler and participated in a league for over 45 years, creating countless memories with friends and fellow bowlers. Her proudest accomplishments were the cherished moments spent caring for and raising her grandchildren, nurturing the ties that bind family together.

Carol is survived by her sons, Robert (Sandy) Lautner Jr. and Brian Gaucher; her daughters, Jonny (Thomas) French and Gretta Moore Henderson; and a loving legacy that includes her grandchildren, Brandy Goodwin, Erik French, Benjamin Moore, Miranda Rolland, Nicole Moore, Marissa Darr and Kalie Keagy. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren, ensuring that her spirit will live on through multiple generations. Her brothers, Thomas (Sandy) Moore and Robert (Laura) Moore; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Moore, will remember her fondly, as will all who had the privilege to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Moore Sr. and Julia Casey Moore; her husband, Robert J. Lautner; her daughter, Marlene Darr; her son, Michael Moore; and her beloved sisters, Nancy Mercier and Donna Jean Masters. She also mourned the loss of her brothers, Charles Moore Jr., William Moore, John Ferguson, James Moore and Raymond Moore; and granddaughter, Lindsey Patterson.

A visitation to honor Carol’s life will take place 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m., at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road, Youngstown, OH 44514.
