Clifford A. Cooper 1984-2024
NEWTON FALLS — Clifford Allen Cooper, 40, formerly of Newton Falls, died unexpectedly, Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at his home, with his family by his side.
He was born Feb. 15, 1984, in Youngstown, the son of Bruce A. Cooper and Debbie L. Stare Cooper.
Clifford was a 2002 graduate of Newton Falls Exempted Village School. While in school he was a Cub Scout, earning the Arrow of Light Award in 1995. He played alto saxophone and sousaphone in the concert and marching bands for eight years, earning his letter, blue ribbons at solo and ensemble contests, and won the “Outstanding Musician Award” in eighth grade. He played in the youth soccer league for seven years, in the youth baseball league for five years, seventh-grade football, junior high, junior varsity and varsity basketball for four years, played for the AAU Tri-County Badgers and earned a letter in golf.
He also bowled in a league, loved to fish and was often on the honor roll.
Cliff married the love of his life, Sarah E. Davis, on Dec. 31, 2005; they enjoyed 19 years of marriage together. They were married by his grandfather, the Rev. Donald Cooper. They had two beautiful daughters, Sierra and Presley.
Cliff attended Gordon D. James Career Center in Lordstown for automotive repair in 2006. He was employed by Wal-Mart Automotive Center, Goodyear Tire Center, Greenwood Chevrolet, Mel Grata Chevrolet Toyota, Spitzer Chevrolet, Lavery Cadillac, Jay Cole Chevrolet and Flynn’s Tire and Auto Service.
Cliff was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit in Warren, where he played the drums, sang and helped in the sound room. He was a die-hard Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
He was also a cancer survivor, receiving treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2009.
Cliff is survived by his parents; his wife, Sarah; daughters, Sierra Cooper and Presley Cooper; brothers, Alex (Elizabeth) Cooper and Eric (Cassandra) Cooper; nephews, AJ Cooper and Otto Cooper; niece, Maeve Cooper; grandmother, Nancy Cooper; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Florence Stare, and the Rev. Donald Cooper.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 11 a.m., with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1996 Coit Drive NW, Warren, OH 44485. His ashes will be laid to rest beside his grandfather in Newton Falls Cemetery.
