Donald W. Logan Jr. 1961-2024

CANFIELD — Donald W. Logan Jr. passed away unexpectedly at home as he entered eternal rest, Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024.

Don was born April 15, 1961, in Cleveland, a son to Donald Sr. and Sandra Gecse Logan.

He was a 1979 graduate of Boardman High School, where he was a member of the marching band. Don started his career working part-time at Valu King in Cornersburg until 1981, when his father purchased his first Valu King supermarket in Mercer, Pa. There he worked as co-manager, along with his father and brother. He and his family owned and operated two additional stores, one in North Lima and the other in Poland until his retirement in 2008.

Don was passionate about the Cleveland Browns, the Indians and professional sports in general. In the early 1990s, before it became popular, he participated in fantasy baseball, where he won national competitions for several years.

He leaves behind his two school-age children, Taylor and Mason, who were his sole purpose in life and always his number one priority. His unwavering support and affection shaped their lives in immeasurable ways. They brought him joy and purpose, and he formed his life around their needs. He was especially proud of them for their participation in the school band, Taylor earning first chair in French horn and Mason playing the trumpet like Don did in his own school years.

Don will be missed by his children, Taylor and Mason; their mother, Amanda Pinto, and her husband Dominic; mother, Sandy; brother, Jeff, and his wife Sarah; sister, Michelle Plakosh, and her husband Joe; as well as many more friends and relatives.

Don’s life will be celebrated by friends and family at a private gathering.
