Douglas R. McLeod 1938-2025

He was born Aug. 11, 1938, in Jenkins, Kentucky, the son of the late Eugene and Eloise Cole McLeod.

Douglas was a 1956 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and went on to cosmetology school. He was a hairdresser for over 60 years with the last 43 years working at Designs Unlimited.

Douglas was a Golden Glove boxer, enjoyed exercising, disco dancing and fishing, and was an avid football fan.

He is survived by his children, Michelle McLeod of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cindy (Joseph) D’Amico of Austintown, Zachary (Randi) McLeod of Chardon and Emily (Nathan Starcher) McLeod of Cleveland; siblings, Jean Lee Schumpert of Texas, Gary (Ruth) McLeod of Florida and Candy McLeod of Warren; grandchildren, Jessica (Tony) Jameson, Joseph D’Amico III and Nora McLeod; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dougie McLeod; brother, Frederick McLeod; and two nieces.

Services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Jeff Duty will officiate.

Friends may call 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
