Florence J. Barber 1949-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Florence J. Barber, 75, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Florence was born July 9, 1949, in Youngstown, the daughter of Andy J. and Jennie L. Carsonie Lordi.
She worked as a beautician at Strouss Beauty Shop and was a member of St. Christine Church.
Her greatest passion was her husband of 55 years, Ron, and her kids and grandkids. She loved cheering for her kids and grandkids in various sports. She was an avid fan and sometimes critic of the Buckeyes and Indians.
Florence will always be remembered lovingly by her husband, Ron; four children, Lori (Jaime) Garayua of Poland, Ron Jr. (Maria) Barber of Boardman, Michele (Todd) Opalick, also of Boardman, and Michael (Dawn) Barber of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Alex, Alexis, Vincent, Nicholas, Mia, Adrianna, Hunter, Brooke, Cole and Nadia; two great-grandchildren, Cade and Cayson; six siblings, Frank, Joe, Tony, George and Ron Lordi, and Rose Colucci; two brothers-in-law, James Barber (Angelica) and Joe Barber; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by Michael A. Barber, and Marie I. Barber.
The family will receive relatives and friends 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at St. Christine Church in Youngstown. Please meet directly at church for Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions be made in Florence’s name to the donor’s charity of choice.
