Irma J. Biroschak 1935-2024

She was born May 10, 1935, in Campbell, the daughter of Michael and Kathryn Sevachko Dubosh. She was a 1953 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.

Irma married her husband, Emery “Chuck” Biroschak on June 15, 1957.

She was a devoted wife, mother and “Mimi” who dedicated her life to her family. Her love and commitment to her children and grandchildren were evident in everything she did. Irma’s greatest joy came from family and she cherished the moments spent with them. Irma and Chuck get the “Biggest Fans” award because you could always see them cheering on their children, and especially their grandchildren, at all of their sporting events and activities.

Irma nurtured her faith as a longstanding member of both Holy Family and St. Paul the Apostle churches. Through her involvement, she contributed her time and effort as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Her legacy of leadership extended beyond her parish as she also led the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Blue Birds. She participated in many organizations throughout her life. Irma was a former member of the Garden Gate Garden Club and the Penn Ohio Polka Boosters. In fact, Irma and Chuck’s hobby together was polka dancing on the weekends with friends. Irma also held the role of president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary 3538, where her contributions were significant, even serving as chaplain. She also loved helping each week with the VFW spaghetti dinners.

Irma was an amazing cook and her “Chicken Soup” was her grandchildren’s favorite. You could always count on her helping to fill the Ohio cookie tables at friends’ and family weddings.

She is survived by her daughters, Diana Hicks of Struthers and Terri (Paul) Glova of Austin, Texas; and her son, David Biroschak of San Bernardino, California; six grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Cene, Helen (Gary) Muntean, Austin (Becca) Glova, Marissa Hird, Abby Glova and Jacob Glova; and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Carter, Harley and Maddie.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sandra Katilus; and her beloved husband, who passed away in 2017.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Arbor Terrace Memory Care, Suncrest Hospice and her wonderful caregiver, Dinora De La Cruz.

A short visitation and prayer will be held 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland. A Mass will follow directly after visitation at Holy Family Church.

Irma will be laid to rest in Poland Riverside Cemetery, after which the family asks please join them for a reception at Holy Family Church.
