Jeffrey R. Tancabel 1960-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Jeffrey R. Tancabel, 64, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at home.
Jeffrey was born June 23, 1960, in Youngstown, a son of Richard and Helene Stellato Tancabel.
He was a 1979 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, where he played football as an offensive and defensive lineman.
Jeffrey was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area and a member of St. Angela Merici Parish.
Jeffrey was a lifelong bowler and golfer, and especially enjoyed bowling with his family in the Wednesday night league at Holiday Bowl. He bowled four perfect 300 games. He was also an avid sports fan, particularly following Ohio high school football, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the New York Yankees.
Professionally, Jeffrey was a logistics operator at Coca-Cola for nearly 30 years and was known for his fierce work ethic and reliability.
Above all else, he will be remembered for his kindness and generosity.
Jeffrey will be deeply missed and always remembered by his brother, James R. (Kathy) Tancabel of Boardman; his nephews, James M. (Kirstie) Tancabel of Macedonia and Nicholas (Lexi) Tancabel of Boardman; his uncles, Ralph (Peggy) Stellato of Boardman and Joe Valerio of Campbell; and many loving cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Sally Stellato; and his paternal grandparents, Mike and Olga Tancabel.
The Tancabel family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m., officiated by Father Tom Kraszewski.
Jeffrey will be laid to rest next to his parents at Lake Park Cemetery.
