Kelly Beth Melnik 1960-2025

Kelly was born March 12, 1960, in Youngstown, a daughter of Ron and Valgene Wolfcale Meyers. Kelly was most known and loved for her caring nature and fun-loving spirit.

Throughout her life, Kelly held various positions, with her longest tenure as a cashier. She was a loving mother and grandmother, always finding joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Kelly had a wonderful sense of humor, a passion for country music, and took pleasure in cooking for her family, creating memories and laughs around meals.

Kelly was a Gold Star mother of the TAPS Veterans Service Organization, a distinction she carried with pride following the loss of her son, Sgt. Larry Kuhns Jr., who died in Iraq while serving his country in 2005. This profound loss impacted her life deeply, reflecting her strength and resilience.

She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Kuhns and Dawn Broll; daughter-in-law, Courtney Kuhns; and her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ashton, Jesse, Adrina, Dakota, Mia, Vinnie, Austin, Alec and Amara. Kelly also leaves behind her longtime caregiver and dear friend, Stephanie Rawleigh, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ron Meyers; mother, Valgene Wolfcale; brother, Lee Meyers; sister, Dawn Huffnagel; and daughter, Amber Melnik.

Kelly’s life was a testament to her loving nature and enduring spirit; she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
