Linda L. Stanar 1947-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Linda L. Stanar, 77, of Youngstown, left this world peacefully, Friday, Jan. 24, 2025.
Linda was born on Jan. 25, 1947, in Youngstown, the daughter of Michael and Helen Barbai Smerek.
Linda graduated from Girard High School. After graduation she worked at Packard Electric, however, her greatest joy came when she decided to leave her job to dedicate herself to raising her family. It was in this role that her nurturing spirit truly flourished, as she balanced the challenges of parenting with grace and love.
Later in life, Linda’s passion for bringing people together led her into the world of catering. Her talent in the kitchen was matched only by her generous heart.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for ceramics, a creative outlet that allowed her to express herself and share her artistry with family and friends. Most importantly, she relished the time spent with her grandchildren and family, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Raymond Stanar, who she married on April 26, 1974, and loved endlessly for 50 years and 10 months. She also leaves her sons, Michael (Stacey) Stanar of Barberton and Patrick (Paula) Stanar of Chippewa Lake; brothers, Kenneth (Karen) Smerek of Girard and Edward (Kathy) Smerek of Macedonia; and grandchildren Lucas, Logan and Leah Stanar.
In her passing, Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and an unwavering belief in the power of family and community. Her memory, etched in the hearts of those she touched, will live on forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Patriot Hospice.
