Mary Frances Doyle 1936-2024

Born March 8, 1936, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Norbert Doyle and Corrine Johnson Doyle. She attended St. Edward’s grade and junior high schools, and in 1954, graduated from The Rayen High School. In 1958, she graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in education.

After teaching in Ohio for two years, Fran relocated to the Washington, D.C. area in 1960 and began her long career as a teacher of elementary and middle school in the Prince Georges County Public School System, during which time she was continually active in and an officer of the county teachers’ association. She retired from teaching in 1993, but remained living in Prince Georges County among her many friends until relocating to Youngstown in 2021, where she rekindled old friendships and made many new friends.

Fran is survived by her sister, Joyce Doyle of New York City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin for Fran, 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown, OH 44504.

The family will receive relatives and friends 10:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 18, 2025, at the church, prior to Mass.
