Nancy C. Vogrin 1942-2025
BOARDMAN — Nancy C. Vogrin, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at Hospice of the Valley.
Nancy was born Sept. 17, 1942, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Catherine Lesogonich Terlecki.
She was a 1960 graduate of East High School where she was a majorette and homecoming queen. In her early teens, Nancy and a group of her friends started a club and called themselves the BBQs. They all made a pact and swore on their lives they would never tell anyone what it meant, not even their husbands. Nancy has cherished these lifelong friendships with her BBQs.
Nancy married the love of her life, Charles Vogrin, on Sept. 7, 1963, and they shared 61 years of marriage together. Nancy was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Church, where she spent a lot of time leading the prayer chains, helping at the church chicken dinners, working bingo and decorating the church for the holidays.
Nancy truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. Her generosity knew no bounds. Nancy, alongside her husband, Chuck, would distribute communion to residents at local nursing homes and assist at the soup kitchen on a regular basis. In her spare time, she loved going to casinos and loved to shop. Her family called her “The Coupon Queen” because she would love to tell everyone when she got a great bargain … and every bargain had a great story behind it.
She cherished her family and always looked forward to the annual family beach vacation to the OBX or Destin, Florida. For over 17 years, Nancy would pack a cooler stuffed with food for the week, including an 18 lb. turkey and a full ham. Her primary goal was to make sure everyone ate well during that week.
Nancy will be deeply missed and always remembered by her husband, Charles; her son, Greg Vogrin; her daughters, Kathy (Brian) Senvisky and Alyson (Jeff) Norris; her son-in-law, Ken Kilpatrick; her grandchildren, Ken (Atty. AnnaMaria) Kilpatrick, Drew and Alexa Senvisky, and Alex Kilpatrick; her great-granddaughter, Brynlee; and her sister, Bonnie (Fred) Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Audrey Kilpatrick; and two brothers, Richard and John Terlecki.
The Vogrin family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.
Calling hours will be 10 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at SS. Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, followed by a funeral service at noon, officiated by Msgr. Robert Siffrin and Fr. Joseph Rudjak.
The family requests that all donations be made to St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, OH 44503.
