Paul A. Loggins 1926-2025

CAMPBELL — Superintendent Emeritus Paul A. Loggins, 98, transitioned from this earthly labor to his heavenly reward, Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Pastor Loggins was born July 5, 1926, in Kilmichael, Mississippi, one of six children to John Henry and Alma Knox Loggins. He was raised by his grandparents, Armstead and Georgia Knox, from an early age. In 1952, at the age of 23, Pastor Loggins left Kilmichael and moved to Youngstown, where he lived with the Goodwine family.

In 1964, the Lord impressed upon Pastor Loggins to establish a mission for God. He and his wife, Naomi, began the ministry of Phillips Chapel Church of God in Christ, located on the corner of Jacobs Road and Ashlar Avenue in Hubbard.

He leaves to cherish his memory, five children, Pastor James T. Patterson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Janet M. Patterson, Robert Earl Patterson and Thomas Ceddrick Patterson, all of Racine, Wisconsin, and Maurice Patterson of Youngstown; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family, extended family, church family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Naomi Phillips; his second wife, the former Rosia Marie Patterson; a son, Dexter L. Patterson; sisters, Virginia Christian, Victoria Golden, Marie Jones, Maree Clark and Martha Robinson; and his brother, John W. Loggins, Jr.

Services will be 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at Phillips Chapel Church of God In Christ, 3903 Jacobs Road, Hubbard, OH 44425.

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Highway Tabernacle Assemblies of God, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Youngstown, OH 44515, with a celebration of life service at 10 a.m.
