Richard A. Oros 1940-2024

HUBBARD — Richard A. Oros, 84, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, at home.

Richard was born Jan. 12, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of George R. and Mary Horvath Oros. He was a 1958 graduate of Hubbard High School.

Richard was a machinist for Commercial Intertech for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a former member of Hello Brothers. He coached Little League baseball and midget football, and was a Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Richard loved spending time with his grandchildren and everyone knew him as the “Silver Fox.”

Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a Nike Hercules Missile Radar Operator.

He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his wife, the former Susan Mock, whom he married March 7, 1980; his children, Sheila (Anthony) Pagnatta, Lance Oros and Brock Oros, and stepson, John (Heather) Cooper, all of Hubbard; 10 grandchildren, Shane Pagnatta, Courtney (Andrew) Russo, Brandon Pagnatta, Corey Oros, Alicia Oros, Jordan Oros, Kadin Smaldino, Brooklyn Oros, Riley Cooper and Kasey Cooper; and five great-grandchildren, Charley, Lochlan, Stella, Avery and Everett.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Oros; and his brother, George Oros.

There will be a memorial service held 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, with calling hours 5 to 7 p.m., at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Richard will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
