Richard G. Edwards Sr. 1935-2025
WASHINGTONVILLE — Richard G. Edwards Sr., 89, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, Jan. 5, 2025, at Windsor House of Canfield.
Richard was born April 2, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to this area as a child. He graduated from Chaney High School in 1954.
After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant.
On Nov. 12, 1955, Richard married JoAnn Corfee and together they raised three children.
He owned and operated Dick’s Floor Covering for 50 years. After retirement, he worked at Home Carpet.
Richard is survived by his wife, JoAnn; two daughters, Deb (Dusty) Quinn of Canfield and Lisa (William) Moss of Salem; his son, Richard Edwards Jr. of Campbell; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Walter “Ed” Jezerski. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Bailey.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Edwards and Patty (Ross) Cooper; and two brothers, Howard (Thelma) Edwards and Robert Edwards.
In accordance with Richard’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
