Thomas J. Dalton 1948-2025

LAKE MILTON — Thomas J. Dalton, 76, died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 14, 2025, at his daughter and son-in-law’s house in Boardman, surrounded by his family, following an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 26, 1948, the son of Thomas Dalton and Leona Braun Dalton.

Tom was a 1966 Jackson Milton High School graduate and began a decorated career at General Motors until his retirement in 1996.

Tom married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Cowan Dalton, in 1967; they shared 43 years of marriage and many happy memories before her death in January 2020.

Tom was an avid archery shooter, winning dozens of titles, including a fourth-place finish in the world championships. He was also the face of “Big Bear” archery equipment, featured on many posters and literature.

Tom and Nancy ran a thriving karaoke business for more than 10 years at various establishments throughout the Lake Milton community. His 1957 vintage turquoise blue Buick found its way to hundreds of classic auto shows, along with his many friends and family members. He was often described as “a man that never had an enemy, only friends he hadn’t met yet.”

Tom was quite the handyman on both house and automobile-related projects, always willing to lend his expertise and assistance to family and friends in need.

Tom will be sadly missed by his daughter, Christine, and her husband, Robert Raupach. He also leaves behind his sister, Josephine Renaccio; his grandchildren, Brandon (Kendra) Baltes, Alexis El-Khouri and Philip Albenze; his nephews, Kevin and Michael McDonald; and his great- nephew, Mark McDonald.

A graveside ceremony will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at North Jackson Cemetery, 10613 Mahoning Ave., at which time Thomas will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Nancy.

There are no visitation / calling hours and all are welcome to join the ceremony.
