Janet T. John 1958-2025

McDONALD — Janet T. John, 66, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at Park Center Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
She was born Dec. 4, 1958, in Youngstown, a daughter to Albert and Barbara Larson Taylor.
Janet earned her associate degree, which paved the way for a rewarding career as a nurse. She worked as a registered nurse at Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital. Her gentle spirit and unwavering commitment to caring for others left an indelible mark on her patients and colleagues alike.
Beyond her professional life, Janet was a woman of many passions. She truly loved swimming during the summer months. Time spent with her grandchildren was especially cherished, where countless memories were created filled with laughter and love. She had a special fondness for the sitcom, “Seinfeld.” As a Cleveland Indians fan, Janet took pride in cheering for her team and her enthusiasm for all things rock ‘n’ roll was a defining characteristic.
Janet is survived by her beloved sons, Thomas M. John of McDonald and David E. (fiancee, Kolbie) of Youngstown; brother, Thomas Taylor of California; and her grandchildren, Isabelle, Morgan, Donald, Xander and Kathleen.
In her passing, Janet is reunited with her beloved husband, Donald R. John, whom she married June 12, 1980, and who died Nov. 8, 1994; her cherished sister, Carol Miluk; and her brother, Richard Taylor.
Visitation will take place 10 a.m. until noon Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at Blackstone Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at noon.
The family asks that contributions be made in Janet’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Janet will be laid to rest in Girard City Cemetery next to her husband.
