John G. Kardoulias 1964-2025

CAMPBELL — John George Kardoulias, 60, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, Feb. 3, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John was born July 1, 1964, in Youngstown, a son of George J. and Eleni “Helen” Pizanias Kardoulias. He was a 1982 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and a Youngstown State University alumni.

John was a parishioner of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, a member of the Prodromos Society and a member of Union Local 476.

John was known for his unwavering work ethic, dedicating himself to hard work throughout his life. He was proud of his heritage and had a passion for Greek music and dancing, often filling the room with joyful melodies and lively steps. His children and grandchildren were the pride of his life, and he took every opportunity to share in their joys and milestones.

John is survived by his loving mother, Eleni “Helen” Kardoulias of Campbell; his daughter, Leah (Justin) Kardoulias-Haught of Howland; his son, George John Kardoulias of Boardman; and stepson, Stephen Filliez of Massillon. He also leaves his grandchildren, Elias John and Eleni Kardoulias-Haught, both of Howland; and his step-grandchildren, Annika and Blaze Filliez of Massillon. John is also survived by his sister, Maria Kardoulias-Papadopoulos of Campbell; his nephews, Athanasios and George Papadopoulos, both of Campbell; and many loving cousins.

John was preceded in death by his father, George J. Kardoulias.

The Kardoulias family has entrusted John’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.

Calling hours will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with Fr. Steve Denas officiating.
