Marilyn K. Julius 1944-2025

BOARDMAN — Marilyn K. Julius passed away peacefully, Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 4, 1944, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Albert C. and Philomena A. Spagnola Julius, and was a lifelong area resident.
Marilyn graduated from the Chaney High School, Class of 1962. She received her license from the Lewis Weinberger School of Cosmetology and worked as a hairstylist for many years out of her home.
Marilyn received her gaming license from Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort; she was a table game dealer.
She later started working for Karl’s Beauty Supply & Wigs as a specialist, with her longtime friend, Margie, and continued her career with her lifelong friend, Carol, at About Beauty.
Marilyn, the sun goddess, could always be seen lying out catching some rays by the pool. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Vegas a few times a year, and going shopping with her daughter.
She was also a diehard Cleveland Browns fan.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Alecia (Jeffrey) Poppke of Boardman; son, Robert L. Gamberale (fiancé, Paige Jann) of Atlanta, Georgia; her niece, Christine M. (Tom) Stacy of Boardman, who Marilyn thought of as another daughter; nephew, Trent Kerpsack; grandson, Daniel (Suzanne) Poppke of Philadelphia; and great-grandchild, Claire Poppke.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald V.; and sister-in-law, Lois Julius, who passed this past year.
Family and friends may call 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. A service will start at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Carmellia Clay.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many doctors at The Cleveland Clinic and to Patriot Hospice, for their compassion and care for Marilyn, and to her wonderful caregiver, Lori, who allowed Marilyn’s family quality time with her.
