Paul Kunder 1949-2025

POLAND — Paul Kunder, 75, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 2025, at Hospice House, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Kunder, the son of Jack S. and Dorothy M. Hasness Kunder, was born Sept. 18, 1949, in Salem.
A 1968 North Lima High School graduate, Paul worked at Nickles Bakery, retiring as manager after 40 years, then worked at GFS for eight years before retiring a second time.
He loved long-distance bicycling.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Gasser, whom he married April 11, 1969. Survivors include two children, Jon Kunder of Lisbon and Melissa Kunder of Strongsville; two granddaughters, Brittani Dunlap of Akron and Cheyenne Kunder of Wellsville; two great-grandsons, Liam and Edward; brother, David (Teresa) Kunder of Poland; sister, Patty (Dave) Polasky of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brothers, Howard and Tom Kunder.
There will be no calling hours and service at this time. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the excellent care Paul received from his oncology team at The Taussig Center at The Cleveland Clinic, the Hope Center in Poland, physical therapist Jeremy Alexee and the staff at Hospice House. They would also like to thank the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, who greatly supported the family.
