Tamson L. Dickson 1941-2025

LOWELLVILLE — Tamson Lee Dickson, 83, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025.

She was born March 11, 1941, in Youngstown, the daughter of Kenneth Dickson and Shirley Cutsler Buchner.

A proud lifelong resident of Lowellville, Tamson attended Lowellville High School and was a member of the former Lowellville Christian Church. A loving and hardworking single mom, Tamson dedicated her life to ensuring her three daughters had the love and support they needed.

Beginning her career in retail, she first worked for Wicks & Sticks Candle Store in the mall and then for Grey’s Drug Store, where she was a pharmacy technician. She later worked in the billing department for Boardman Medical Supply and admissions for Akron Children’s Hospital. She finished her career in the office of Dr. Duran in Poland, retiring in 2008.

Known for her bright and feisty personality, Tamson was an avid crafter who especially loved stamping. Participating in various stamping clubs, her talents received special recognition when her beautiful, stamped cards were published in stamping magazines. Tamson also enjoyed flower gardening and memorable trips to Las Vegas.

Her legacy of commitment to family and her vibrant personality will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Barbara J. Murray Weaver of Lowellville; sister, Diane (Dr. John) Shaffer of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael DuPonty, Alicia DuPonty, Chelsea (Christopher Marshall) Fossaceca of Campbell, Amanda Ray Weaver of Lowellville, Rex Edward Weaver of Lowellville and Jesse Austin Weaver of Warrensville, North Carolina; several great-grandchildren, including Kennedy Marshall; and nieces, Dr. Amy Baker of Wellington, Florida, and Maggie (Max Stabler) Baker of Vancouver, Washington.

In addition to her parents, Tamson was preceded in death by her daughters, Sharyn DuPonty and Janice Fossaceca.

Per Tamson’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Augustine Funeral Home.
