Veronica Banjak, 1941-2025

HUBBARD — Veronica Banjak, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025.
Veronica was born Dec. 12, 1941, in Sharon, Pa., a daughter of John and Helen Podlucky Bohach.
She had worked at The Red Barn in Hubbard and the gift shop at Sharon General Hospital, and later in central supply for many years, retiring in 1993.
She was a very active member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
Veronica enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her rum cake, and loved her pets.
Veronica will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family: her husband, Ronald J. Banjak, whom she married Dec. 14, 1957; her daughters, Sandra (Mike) Kerr and Rhonda Banjak-Horvath, both of Hubbard; and three grandchildren, Rachael Kerr (Jon Bunge), Joshua (Stacy) Kerr and Benjamin Kerr.
She also leaves her sister-in-law, Beverly Bohach of Florida.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Bohach and John Bohach; and sisters, Louise Dunder, Ann Sirochman, Val David, Rose Moder, Marge Pelles, JoAnn Leckfor, Theresa Kettering and infant Katherine Bohach.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Michael D. Balash officiating.
Veronica will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage, Pa.
