Arnold G. Shiflett Sr. 1965-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Arnold Glenn Shiflett Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who left this world Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, at the age of 59, surrounded by those he cherished most.
Arnold was born Oct. 17, 1965, in New Jersey, and he grew up to embody the spirit of resilience and generosity that defined his life.
A devoted husband, Arnold leaves behind his wife, with whom he shared 40 wonderful years of marriage, Cindy. Their bond was an inspiring reminder of what true partnership looks like – built on love, respect and unwavering support. Together, they raised four remarkable children, Arnold II, Christopher, Heath and Jesse. Arnold’s love for his family was boundless and he took immense pride in being a father, and in addition, a grandfather.
Arnold was affectionately known as “Papaw.” His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds and he treasured every moment spent with them. His legacy will continue through Shauna, Arnie III, Ava, Karma, Skylar, Avery, Paxton, Jesse II, Bradley, Heath II, Stormy, Maze and many more. Each grandchild held a special place in his heart and he took immense joy in their lives, always eager to share stories, wisdom and his infectious laughter.
Arnold spent his early years in West Virginia, where he developed his love for the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. As a proud Native American, he cherished his heritage and shared the values of respect and community with those around him.
In his professional life, Arnold was an entrepreneur who established his own business, 4 Brothers Construction. His hard work and dedication to his craft were evident in every project he undertook and he took great pride in serving his community through his work.
Arnold was also deeply involved in youth sports, coaching Little League football with the Little Redman and Struthers Little Wildcats. His passion for mentoring young athletes illuminated his commitment to giving back to the community. He inspired many with his kindness, encouragement and belief in the potential of every child he coached.
Arnold’s life was marked by love he shared with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, whose memory remained a guiding light in his life.
As we remember Arnold, we celebrate a man of integrity, kindness and courage. His laughter could light up a room and his unwavering support uplifted those around him. His legacy will live on through his friends, grandchildren, children and community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
