Carole J. Scattergood 1934-2025

NEW SPRINGFIELD – Carole J. Scattergood, 90, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman surrounded by her family.
Born June 2, 1934 at home in Greenford, she was a daughter to the late Theron and Mildred Bare Roller.
Carole was a 1952 graduate of North Lima High School. On June 20, 1952, she married the love of her life, Glenn Scattergood. The two shared 40 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 1992.
She worked for many years as a waitress at the Penn Ohio Plaza and later as a home health aide. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in Salem.
An avid bowler, Carole was a member of the Women’s Bowling Congress and participated in many leagues with her husband and daughters at Arrowhead Lanes. In her spare time, she enjoyed being out in her yard, tending to her landscaping and mowing the grass. She liked jigsaw puzzles and playing the coin machines at the casino.
Above all, Carole cherished her moments of being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Surviving are her children, Patti Campbell, Kathy (Bob) Randolph, Glenn “Butch” (Loraine) Scattergood, Gary (Jeanne) Scattergood and Scott (Su-Hee) Scattergood; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Patty) Roller and Don (Nancy) Roller; and brother-in-law, James Crawford.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two daughters, Terry Lee Ward and Marilyn Sue Klink; brother, Kenneth Roller; sister, Judy Crawford; and granddaughter, Amanda Klink.
Calling hours will be held 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Salem.
