Charles J. Aigner III 1970-2025

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Charles Joseph Aigner III, formerly of Youngstown, was born March 27, 1970, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, to Charles Jr. and Catherine Aigner. Charles was called home by his Lord and friend, Jesus, on Friday, Feb. 15, 2025, at the age of 54, when he died unexpectedly from cardiac tamponade.
Following his graduation from Cardinal Mooney High School, Charles attended Youngstown State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He was extremely athletic and found a passion in volleyball that lasted his entire life. He played competitively both indoor and outdoor in many leagues, and with his siblings, Thomas and Elizabeth. Charles was also a proud member of Sons of the American Legion.
He married Christina Palmer in 2000 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They raised two beautiful daughters, Amelia “Mia” and Hailey, to whom he passed his love for volleyball. He coached for many years, most recently at Pine Creek High School, Colorado, as the assistant varsity volleyball coach.
Charles enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing sports, watching movies, gaming on the computer and playing cards. One of his favorite yearly outings was attending a men’s retreat at Rainbow Trail Camp every September, where he spent time in worship, fellowship and friendship around the campfire.
Charles worked more than a dozen years as an international IT computer consultant, many for British Telecommunications (BT). He ran incident and crisis management for executive-level leadership. Most recently he worked as a senior director at Sierra Nevada Corporation in Colorado Springs.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Christina, of 24 years; his daughters, Amelia and Hailey of Colorado Springs; his brother, Thomas (Dorinda) Aigner of East Brady, Pa.; his sister, Elizabeth (Brad) Shultz of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his parents, Chuck and Cathy Aigner of Butler, Indiana; and his godmother, Ginger (Steve) Kozarich of Las Vegas, Nevada. He will also be missed by his seven nieces and nephews, many loving cousins and good friends too numerous to count.
Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mack and Josephine Gabriel, and Chuck and Virginia Aigner; and his godfather, Thomas Gabriel, with whom he shared a love for scotch.
A celebration of life service is being planned for a future date.
