Edith L. McCormish 1926-2025
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Edith Louise Sewall McCormish, of Adams Street, New Castle, Pa., passed away at the age of 98, at Jameson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Louise was born Dec. 3, 1926, in New Castle, to the late Charles Howard Sewall and Althea Laura Findley Sewall.
She married Thomas Donald McCormish in February 1953. He preceded her in death, April 10, 2010.
Louise attended Zuber #8 School and Wilmington High School. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in New Castle.
Family was always important to her. She enjoyed camping and riding bikes.
As a family, we deeply appreciate Three Oaks Hospice and Jameson Nursing and Rehabilitation Home, and our closest friends who got us through this time.
Survivors include a daughter, Lucinda J. (Roy) Wright of Boardman; and daughter-in-law, Connie McCormish of New Castle, Pa. One grandson, Jason Wright, completes the family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Roy McCormish.
The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, Pa.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jordan Rimmer officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service will also take place.
Interment will follow in Neshannock Cemetery, New Wilmington, Pa.
