Janet M. Hogan 1941-2025

BOARDMAN — Janet M. Hogan, 84, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 24, 1941, in Youngstown, the daughter of William O. Sr. and Ruth E. Steadman Brahler. Janet was a proud 1959 graduate of Ursuline High School.
Janet dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker to her five sons. In addition to her commitment to her family, Janet found joy in numerous hobbies, including sewing, knitting and assembling beautiful floral arrangements. She was also an avid bowler and took pride in her involvement alongside her husband as a member of Amvets Post 44. Her passions were reflected in the love she poured into her crafts, and her warm spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Janet is survived by her sons, Michael (Kathy) Hogan of Boardman, Greg Hogan of Austintown, Brian Hogan of Boardman, Jeff (Denise) Hogan of Boardman and Doug Hogan of Boardman; grandchildren, Heather Lynn Hogan, Joseph Matthew (Rikki Lee) Hogan, Jeffery Michael Hogan and Adam Richard Hogan; her great-grandson, Liam Michael Hogan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael J. Hogan Sr., whom she married Nov. 9, 1963, and who passed away Jan. 7, 2009; as well as her brother, William O. Brahler Jr.; and sister, Mary Jean Woolley.
Family and friends may call 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Parish, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman, OH 44512, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Angels for Animals, 4750 OH-165, Canfield, OH 44406; or to the Joanie Abdu Breast Care Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44504, as a tribute to Janet being a breast cancer survivor.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nino Rubino, Dr. Barakat and all the wonderful nurses in the CVICU at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown for the exceptional care and compassion shown to her family.
