Lucinda M. Fusco 1935-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Lucinda M. “Lou” Fusco, 89, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, March 6, 2025, with her family by her side.

Lou was born May 21, 1935, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Margaret McFate Sovik. She was proud to grow up on the East Side and was a 1953 graduate of East High School as a “Golden Bear.”

Lou was a proud homemaker and always made her family their top priority. She enjoyed cooking and baking for them along with spending time with family. She especially looked forward to attending her granddaughter’s sporting events.

She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Senior Citizens and played bocce at the MVR and the Pacentrano Club. She will always be remembered for her smile and sociable personality. She was full of life and loved to go to the casino and play games of chance and watch the Hallmark Channel, and was an avid reader.

She leaves behind to hold onto her memories, her husband of over 64 years, John “Jack” J. Fusco Jr., whom she married Sept. 10, 1960; her two children, Linda (Ron) Rowe of Poland and John T. Fusco of Austintown; her daughter-in-law, Judith Ann Fusco of Austintown; two grandchildren, Madison Rowe and Sydney (fiance, Patrick Kearney) Rowe; a great-granddaughter, Clara Mae; and her brother, Jack (Bonnie) Sovik of Austintown; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Robert Fusco.

Family and friends may pay their respects to Lou 11 a.m. until 12:50 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman, where a funeral prayer service will take place at 1 p.m.
