Ludwick ‘Wally’ Pascarella 1955-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Ludwick “Wally” Pascarella, 69, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Born Oct. 12, 1955, in Youngstown, Wally was the son of Ludwick and Catherine Smith Pascarella.

He was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area.

On Aug. 12, 1989, Wally married the love of his life, Sara “Sally” Mallamo.

Wally worked as a surgical tech at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. He had also worked for United Excavating and Parisi Excavating, as well as several area car dealerships.

Wally had a deep love for the Lord, which sustained him. He was a member of Victory Christian Church and had previously been a parishioner at St. Lucy’s and St. Paul Church. He completed the True Life Christian Men’s Ministry program.

Wally had a lifelong passion for sports. He played football, basketball and ran track. He also played semi-professional football and boxing.

Beyond sports, Wally loved cars, music, animals and his family vacations — especially trips to the beach. He took pride in keeping his cars in pristine condition. He also felt joy in helping others. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his grandson, Valentino.

Wally will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, charismatic personality, compassion, thoughtfulness and the ability to make friends wherever he went.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally; his children, Dominic Pascarella of Poland, Sara Pascarella (fiance, Rob Rivera) of Poland and Chris Gregg of Cranberry Township; his grandchildren, Valentino Rivera, Aaron and Lucas Gregg; his sisters, Catherine (Gary) Daichendt of Laguna Beach, California, and Victoria Courtney of Poland; and his dogs, Carmen and Lupe.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Charlotte (Dr. William) Diorio; his brother, Jerome Pascarella; his nephew, Nick Pascarella.

The Pascarella family has entrusted Wally’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the funeral home.

A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, officiated by Pastor Bill Burney.

Wally will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
