Mary Anne Shebert 1944-2025

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — Mary Anne Shebert passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, after an extended illness.
She lived for her family and enjoyed the fruits of a prosperous life, her two children and grandchildren. Her friends were an extension of her family. She enjoyed the many challenges presented from childhood through a 56-year marriage with extraordinary expression of compassion, love, courage and style.
She was most proud of being a wife and mother, and especially graced with her role as grandmother. She leaves her husband, Edmund; sons, Gregory (Emily) and Jason (Yolanda); and grandchildren, Brooklyn, Braden, Justin and Juliana. She also leaves her sister, Joann Grilli; and brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Shebert; and is predeceased by a sister, Esther Sabol; and her parents, Bellino and Anna Grilli.
Mary Anne was born and raised in Hillsville, Pa. She married Ed Shebert in 1968 and had many years of a wonderful marriage. In their endeavors to retirement, they shared 18 residences across eight states, where Mary Anne made “home” at each location. She managed a beautiful residence in all locations and contributed greatly to the challenges of changing locations. Her homes were the source of a great deal of pride and accomplishment, always beautifully planned.
Aside from family, Mary Anne practiced cosmetology and worked in cosmetics and retail sales, retiring with many awards at Nieman Marcus in Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia, and also at Gattle’s of Naples, Florida. She also attended classes at Charlotte Community College.
Anyone who came within the sphere of her influence felt and benefitted from the warmth of Mary Anne’s personality. Her family and many she touched will continue to live with her in mind in many joyous memories and with the lessons she taught.
Her final wish for all was to dedicate a plant for her, virtually anything to attest to the ongoing blessings she had in her life — a tree, a shrub or even a vegetable.
