Mary K. Conway 1947-2025

LOUISVILLE — Mary K. Conway passed peacefully in Jesus’ arms, Monday, March 10, 2025, after a long illness, with her daughter Christine and hospice lovingly at her side.
Born Aug. 15, 1947, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Kathryn Kuntz Wessenauer.
Mary was a 1965 graduate of Chaney High School and later earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Youngstown State University. She concluded her career with the Cafaro Company.
Mary delighted in the company of others and showed much kindness as she lovingly read to the visually impaired and generously gave her time, her smiles and attention to others. She also loved to dance.
Mary worshipped for many years at Venture Church in Austintown, where she met her husband Chuck and made many friends.
She was much loved by her siblings, Carol (Thomas) Walker, Donald (Penny) Wessenauer, Laurie (Michael) Vodilko and Elaine (John) Janik.
Mary is survived by her three children, Christine (Edward) Gatta of Louisville, William “Sam” (Glenda) McCool of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Sheila (George) Calko of Dayton; seven grandchildren, Caroline (fiance, Dominic) and Caitlyn Gatta, Samuel (Lydia) McCool, Sean (fiancee Kate) McCool, David William Klasovsky, and George and Cecilia Calko; and a great-granddaughter, Emily McCool.
She is also survived by her late husband Chuck’s children and grandchildren, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Green Meadows Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Mary.
A celebration of Mary’s life will take place 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, where a service will follow at 1 p.m.
