Renee M. Rice 1956-2025
NEW MIDDLETOWN — Renee M. Rice, 68, a loving mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by family.
Renee was born June 14, 1956, in Youngstown, a daughter of Alvin and Helen Lang Rice. She dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving mother to Julie (Martin) Mayer of Machipongo, Virginia, and Justin (Molly) Colaneri of Dayton; and a dedicated sister to Richard (Sam) Rice of East Rochester; and to her sister-in-law, Jan Rice of Poland.
Renee was most proud to be the grandmother of Gabriella Colaneri, Nicholas Colaneri, Addison Mayer, Elizabeth Mayer and Christopher Colaneri. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who had a special place in her heart.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Randal and Roger Rice.
Per Renee’s wishes, there will be no service.
The family requests donations be made to Angels for Animals, at angelsforanimals.org, in Renee’s memory, in honor of her beloved dog, Maggie.
